There are so many different kinds of cooking, and each one of these forms is suited to several particular dishes. For example, you will find that it is very difficult to fry a bowl of soup or to boil french fries. Before we get into our review, we are going to be taking a look at different types of cooking and all of their pros and cons.

Frying is one of the more popular types of cooking, but it is important to make the distinction between which type of frying, as they are quite different from each other. These two forms of cooking are pan frying and deep frying. These two methods of cooking are about as similar as grilling and boiling.

Deep frying consists of immersing your food in oil which has been heated up to a sufficient temperature to cook it. While deep-fried food is certainly some of the most delicious that you will ever come across, you will find that it is quite unhealthy. If you would like to improve your cardiac health vastly, you may wish to cut these foods out.

Pan frying, on the other hand, is a type of frying in which there is only a small layer of oil or butter underneath the food. This means that the heat is directed upwards only, and does not come from all around. Keep in mind that pan frying is often faster than deep frying and it is also marginally healthier.

One other type of cooking that is quite prevalent is boiling, and it is similar to deep frying, but instead of immersing your food in hot oil, you are submerging it in hot water. You will find that boiling only works well for certain types of food, like soups and crawfish, since it is hard to transmit seasoning and flavor through boiling water.

One of the more important aspects to search for in the best roaster oven is sufficient size. You will find that the size of your roaster oven can have a huge bearing on the foods which you will be able to cook. For example, a six-quart roaster oven will not be able to cook a large turkey, but one with a capacity of 18 quarts should have no problem.

Keep in mind that a larger roaster oven will often be a more expensive investment, but this is not always the case. While it may not seem to make sense, you will find that smaller roaster ovens can sometimes be found for the same price as their larger counterparts. This is because they require a more efficient design to make use of less space.

If you are hoping to cut down on the cost of your roaster oven, you may just wish to opt for a traditional 18-quart model, since these tend to be the most affordable ones. You should also remember that a larger roaster oven will be harder to store after you are done using it.

If your kitchen is running low on space, you will find that a smaller roaster oven will be the best option for your needs, but you will also have to account for the meals that you plan to cook in it.

This roaster oven is made by Oster, one of the largest makers of kitchen appliances that you will come across. You can rest assured that they have put their experience to good use in this model, as it is highly effective.

This product features an excellent range of temperatures, as some of the competing roaster ovens can only be found with a minimum temperature of 200 degrees F. It still features the usual maximum of 450 degrees F, but you will find that a temperature which goes any higher would substantially increase the price of the product.

The maximum volume of 22 quarts is our favorite feature of this product, as it is about four quarts higher than most of the competing products that you will find. The best part about this added capacity is that it does not increase the price point in comparison to smaller models.

Another feature that managed to impress us was the inclusion of a self-basting lid which ensures that your food does not end up getting too dry. If you are tired of having to use a squeeze bulb to manually baste your food while it is in your roaster oven, you will find this lid design to be a relief.

What Others Say

Other customers have had quite a bit to say about this product, and most of the feedback was good. Some of the more helpful feedback that we have heard is to place foil in between the sides of this roaster oven and the food which you are cooking to prevent burning through direct contact.

Unfortunately, some customers had issues with the quality of this product. While there were not many problems, you will find that this model tends to discolor after you use it even once.

Buying Advice

This is one of the more affordable roaster ovens that you will come across, and it offers some of the best value for money that you will get out of any product of this type. It is available for $59.99, which is the same price as most 18-quart roaster ovens, but this model has a capacity of 22 quarts.

We hope that this review has helped you decide on what may be the best roaster oven for your needs. If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to let us know down in the comments section.
